This is a new thread that will "try" to be the definitive list for Sega Master System releases in Canada. If anyone has any Canadian UPC games, can you please either take a picture of the box for validity or give the UPC code so that we can update this list?

Quite a few years ago I bought a SMS Canadian lot.
Here are the games that came in the lot.

California Games - 6 language back, missing book, UPC sticker 0 69044 09680 6
Super Monaco GP - 6 language back, EU book, UPC sticker 0 69044 07043 1

Bomber Raid - 5 language back, EU book, no UPC

I'm not sure if many EU games didn't have a UPC but if it says no UPC that means there is non on the box at all.

There are 3 posters as well I think they are normal EU posters?

Here's some pictures you may want, you don't have to use them but I thought I'd scan them. Feel free to resize them or whatever you see fit and let me know once you have them saved and I'll erase them from this post.

Also that boxed set I mentioned is in a plain white box and says Sega Master System it also says packaged by IRWIN in Canada. I'll try and get pictures of that soon.

awesome. I added the Super Monaco GP UPC code to the list and used your scans because they were better than that other image I found. lol I might resize everything later on to make it look nicer. I might also start taking pics of the UPC games, but we'll see how that goes.

Edit: I just hooked it up and the 2 games are Hang-On/Safari Hunt built in.
Kind of odd it had Safari Hunt seeing it didn't come with a Phaser. The bottom of the unit says Made in China so I assume it's the unit that came with this box and not a mix up.

Also noticed the bottom of the box says:
SEGA MASTER CTN. OVERTEST
RP 096002

The rest of the box is plain white.

I was wrong this set did come with a Light Phaser. I opened it again to repack everything and noticed a place in the foam for the gun I guess it was just missing when I bought it. The other thing is the number 096002 must be a mistake, it should be 069002 but it's printed on the box as 096002.

I'm still confused as to the canadian releases, did we get all the US releases with just the english text on those plus specific european titles with the multi language boxes? I want to build a complete canadian collection but not sure what variants I need. I guesse im just wondering if we got all 114 US titles with X number of Europe releases as well so far I havn't seen such a list. Thanks

Building a complete Canadian list is very hard due to the fact that we received the US titles, but we also received duplicates of European ones with Canadian UPCs. For example, we received the European version of Galaxy Force with a Canadian UPC, but we also received the US version of it. I am assuming there was a cutoff point at which time Canada stopped receiving European games. Probably when the US stopped getting proper releases, but who knows. I also know that there are some European games that were released here that didn't get Canadian UPCs. I remember buying Castle of Illusion brand new in the early 90s, but my copy does not have a Canadian UPC on it.

Thanks for your answer, Sounds like it was really hit or miss as to what would be released here with a Canadian UPC.. I have a small collection right now (25 games) and only one has the canadian UPC (golden axe) and all these games were bought in Canada so they likleyhood of finding those UPC's is greater here, at any rate is there a list of known Eruopean only releases that made it here to Canada like ones that Canada got but were not released in the US?
